Course Instructor: David B. McWhorter, Ph.D.
David B. McWhorter, Ph.D., was a Professor of Agricultural and Chemical Engineering at Colorado State University from 1970 to 1999, and is currently an independent consultant and Professor Emeritus at CSU.
He has extensive experience in teaching and research in multi-phase flow in porous media, specializing in the combined use of mathematical models and laboratory experiments to develop practical methods for more effective site analysis and remediation.
He has won university and national awards, most recently the M.K. Hubbert Award of the NGWA. He recently led a research team focused on various aspects of DNAPL mass removal and related issues of exposure reduction.
He has been a frequent consultant to government and industry on problems involving DNAPLs and LNAPLs in the subsurface for more than 30 years.
